Beware of Crocodiles on Douglas Shire beaches

Facebook posting yesterday 15 Jul 15, by local man of a big croc at Cooya Beach.

We have had 2 croc attacks this year, one an elderly man on a golf course in Port Douglas and another at Daintree where a pet dog was taken.

As he says beware.

Port Douglas guided walk

This is a quick response code (QR code) for a website that will fit your phone.

A QR code reader app can be downloaded from the app stores for free and you can read QR codes with it.

Our walkers today found out about the walk by reading a QR code that I put on a lamp post in 2011.

You can read about the guided walk by tapping on this link:

Rare bird sighting on the Port Douglas guided walk.

Beach Stone-curlews

Sighted on the Port Douglas Walk this morning was a single Beach Stone-curlew. Considered scarce or rare by birdwatchers it was a delight for the walkers.

Visitors show interest in the "Keys to Port Douglas Visitor's Guide"

Responsive website for visitor's mobile devices

The Keys to Port Douglas have been around for 3 years and been modified many times to fit the changing technology.

I was able to show the Keys and the Coastcare walk to 3 visitors yesterday and noticed that people accept this technology more readily than in previous years. With all the hype about innovation and business opportunities in the paper and Mayoral Messages wouldn't it be good to see some Port Douglas Daintree tourism identities come onboard and use the Keys to everyone's advantage?
